That seems as good a time as any to point out that the Surgeon General just released a report encouraging breastfeeding.
Research shows that:
CONCLUSION: Breast-feeding seems to have a small but consistent protective effect against obesity in children
Breast feeding is also good for the mother as it helps burn off the “baby” fat.
I loved nursing my babies. Ironically, were all really fat during the breast feeding period but they turned skinny when they were weaned started walking.
It’s the best thing a mother (without infectious risks) can do for her child.:)
