So, is the grilled version of this this new KFC sandwich okay to have if I’m doing high protien low carb diet? Looks like I could do without the sodium and the special sauce! Likely I could do without the whole thing!http://www.kfc.com/doubledown/
Oh, no! Good question, but lots of problems.
In general, I don’t believe chains/fast food places will sell you food that will help with weight loss. Even the salads (lettuce has little nutritional value) they offer come with croutons, dressings, and processed chicken (maybe fried). I eat lots and lots of green veggies – something you won’t find in fast food places.
The added fat (cheese, bacon) is not good.
The amount of salt in 1 double-down is close to what you should eat in an entire day! Prepared food, not the salt shaker, accounts for about 3/4 of the salt we take in.
Think fast food is cheap? Not in the long run!
BTW, I haven’t done low carb! I eat lots of carbs – but complex carbs (sweet potatoes, brown rice). I avoid soda, sugar, sweetened products, juices… Avoid juices? Yes – eat the fruit, don’t drink the juice!
Here’s today’s lunch – okra, tomato, brown rice, pinto beans, skinless chicken thighs with some sriracha hot sauce.
