MUSIC SOOTHES THE SAVAGE BEAST!

Music is a great stress-reliever! My collection is much, much larger than this, but these are a few of my solo jazz piano favorites on iTunes: iMix “Dr. Ellis Jazz Piano favorites.”

Jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove

One study showed that patients awaiting surgery had significant stress reduction by listening to music.  Another study of surgeons during a stressful episode (doing mental arithmetic) found that music relaxed them, lowered their pulse and blood pressure, and improved their performance – not any old music, but the music of their choice!

What music relaxes YOU?  What will you play when stressed out? Rather than reaching for a donut….
