Screen time is dangerous for any number of reasons, including:
- Sitting (TV, driving to commute, etc) increases the likelihood of heart disease
- TV commercials promote bad eating habits (sugar, sugar, sugar) in kids.
See this depressing article about the so-called “health foods” that food manufacturers and advertisers think should be advertised to kids as such. It’s hard for me to envision Fruit Loops as a “healthy choice.”
Don’t believe the hype!
One suggestion: make kids (and yourself) “earn” screen time with active time.
