Limit your kids’ screen time

Screen time is dangerous for any number of reasons, including:

  1. Sitting (TV, driving to commute, etc) increases the likelihood of heart disease
  2. TV commercials promote bad eating habits (sugar, sugar, sugar) in kids.

See this depressing article about the so-called “health foods” that food manufacturers and advertisers think should be advertised to kids as such.  It’s hard for me to envision Fruit Loops as a “healthy choice.”

Don’t believe the hype!

One suggestion:  make kids (and yourself) “earn” screen time with active time.

Gene J. Puskar/Associated Press Froot Loops are healthy, by food industry ad standards.
