I drink green tea everyday

Nigel Slater, the ‘Tender’ CookThe beloved British food writer opens up about the pleasures of unfussy cooking, afternoon tea and chocolate bars:

My favorite ritual is my afternoon cup of Sencha tea. It’s soothing. I take it out to the garden on a tray and sit just beyond the veg patch. I spent 40 years of my life saying no to black tea. I was given a cup when I was about 8 years old with milk and sugar, and I could not drink it. Then I went into a little shop in London called Postcard Teas, where the owner, Tim d’Offay, gave me some green tea. Now I’m completely hooked. I’m fond of Gyokuro, too, but it’s more expensive so I bring it back with me when I go to Japan.

Sencha and Gyokuro are some fancy green teas; check out my posts on the benefits of green tea for folks seeking to lose weight.
