I did not watch the royal wedding

Mother-in-law Kate Middleton says she lost weight on the “Dukan Diet,” a French variation of the Atkins diet.  Another one of these “game diets.”  Not game as in antelope but rather, “do this the 1st week, then add this and subtract that…”  It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet that promotes healthy, sustainable weight loss.

Who watched the wedding?

Says the UK’s Daily Mail:

The diet has four phases, starting with the ‘attack’ stage in which users eat only lean protein and zero-fat dairy products for up to a week. In the second stage dieters can add non-starchy vegetables on alternate days.

Fruit and starchy foods are allowed only in the final two phases, and dieters are also told to drink two litres of water a day and eat oat bran to provide fibre.

I see no reason to eliminate healthy green veggies early in the program; they provide important nutrients, fibre, and help us feel full.  I also see no need for programs that vary week to week.
