I am always impressed by my neighbors who hit the treadmill religiously!
The Government has published some guidelines for exercise by seniors. Exercise can reduce disability, improve mental function, reduce depression, reduce falls…
Click on NIH Senior Health. It has exercise instructions and demonstration videos.
BTW, in the news and the Journal of the American Medical Association yesterday, about back surgeries:
Among Medicare recipients…complex fusion procedures for spinal stenosis increased … simple fusion and complex fusion were associated with increased risk of major complications, 30-day mortality, and resource use.
That means hospitals make money off of more extensive back surgery. Why not lose weight and strengthen your abdominal and core muscles in hopes of avoiding or limiting back pain and surgery???
