Dr. Oz’s plan to reduce belly fat in women after 40?

His plan is pretty similar to what I’ve been doing for 4 years, which led me to lose 120 lbs AND also maintain that weight loss for 2 years now.

Of course, these steps actually work for men and women, young and old, though it’s probably easier for men and younger folks to lose weight, given hormonal status.  BTW, don’t expect to look like the woman in the picture there!  I lost 120 lbs, but still have loose skin that probably only surgery could ever address.

His 1st tip in “5 Steps to Conquering Your Over-40 Belly” is:

Eat in reverse.

He then gives a breakfast recipe that’s similar to mine in a number of ways.  And he suggests eating it everyday for a week.

I eat my calories early in the day.  I eat the same breakfast every day, 365 days a year:

Dr. Ellis has used the strategies in here to: (1) lose 120 lbs over 18 months, (2) stop all antihypertensive medicines, and (3) no longer need CPAP treatment for sleep apnea.

  2. I’M52 and i’m trying to lose my belly fat what do u recommend?

  3. I gotta tell you…I agree with most of what you post (and it obviously works, as we generally live the same sort of life, eating sensibly, exercising and sleeping properly)…BUT there’s no way in hades I could eat the same breakfast every day…I crave variety.

Generally, what I do is eat like they did back in the Dark Ages…whatever is left over from dinner the night before is breakfast the next morning. Assuming I’ve made a sensible evening meal, then breakfast is also sensible.

  4. Variety is the kiss of death 🙂

“My sister ate such a diet when in Africa as a Peace Corp volunteer. Suffice it to say, she was thinner there than when she’d been back in the US for a while. Check out a similar story about a Chicago cab driver originally from Sudan.”

  5. Avoid simple carbs, exercise (including weights), shop and cook instead of eating prepared or fast food. 1/2 – 1 lbs of green veggies with lunch and dinner.
