Shopping for Bread
LOW CARB? Not me. I eat plenty of complex carbs, with slow increase in blood sugar (low glycemic index). Sweet potatoes, brown rice are my favorites. Problem is, most bread in America has added sugar and/or high-fructose corn syrup added – couldn’t find bread without sugar in Publix today. And don’t believe the color – “wheat bread” is not necessarily whole wheat, and usually has brown color added.
