Other “secrets” that I’ve often discussed:
- “Protein is the key.” Protein satisfies longer than sugar. I add protein powder to my oatmeal breakfast. I eat fish or lean meats or beans for lunch and dinner.
- “Eat all day.” I eat breakfast every day. I eat lunch and dinner before I get to hungry. A good way NOT to lose weight? – starve yourself all day, then go home and “lose” willpower and pig out at night. Better to eat throughout the day, and not get famished.
- “Merge cardio and toning” Half of my workouts are resistance/weight training. I believe this is crucial for building and maintaining muscle. Otherwise, if you restricts caloric intake to lose weight, you’ll lose muscle, which is a catastrophe which sets you up to regain the weight lost AND MORE if you go back to your old eating habits. Dr. Chase in the article uses kettle balls. I foten do exercises that utilize my own body weight for resistance.
